eLearning Day on Monday
Monday, Sept. 16, is a planned eLearning Day. For juniors and seniors, it's also an optional college/university visit day.  All students, on a college/university visit or not, will be given assignments to complete for the day.  Those assignments will be due on the next school day or later.  The assignments for the day will be provided to students no later than 4 p.m.  Sept. 15.

Public Kickoff Party
for Scecina's Capital Campaign
Learn more about the plans for Scecina and see the architect's renderings at this free event on Sept. 26.  Food, drinks, beer and wine, children's activities.
Scecina students will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m. that day.
Parents, if you would like to volunteer for the event, it's a great way to meet other parents and Scecina staff and friends. Click here for the volunteer signup sheet.

 
Financial Aid Planning Night

Representatives from Marian University's Financial Aid department will present a program to Scecina parents and students at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25.

Friday Football Frenzy!
Get to school early on Friday, Sept. 20, for live TV with WRTV-Channel'6's "Friday Football Frenzy."

A TV team will visit Scecina that morning for a live broadcast. Scecina students, cheerleaders, band, and football team will be part of the broadcast. Scecina is planning some other fun. Maybe an interview with Coach Ott Hurrle!

Students should be at school by 5:30 a.m. to be on TV. Students who come for the broadcast can receive a breakfast snack.
 
Sacred Music Concert
Scecina's choirs perform a special night of music at the Sacred Music Concert, 7 p.m. Oct. 3 at Little Flower Catholic Church.

Each year the choirs perform the concert at an East Deanery Catholic church.
 
2019-20 Sports Passes
Sports passes are on sale in the Athletic Office. Passes are $75 each or $125 for two. Passes allow entry into all Scecina home sporting events except City tournaments and Sectionals.

for Booster Club:
Winners all year long!

Congratulations to Mark Steinmetz, winner of the first $1,000 Booster Club Raffle drawing at last week's Homecoming game.

Support Scecina Crusader athletics! The Scecina Memorial High School Raffle for the Booster Club creates winners all year long. There are monthly drawings for $300 and $100 throughout the school year, and a final drawaing for $1,000 on May 15.

Panama 2020
Scecina is going to Panama in June 2020! 
The eight-day excursion will include visiting Panama City, hiking in El Valle de Anton, taking a boat ride to Monkey Island, canoeing on the Rio Chagres, and snorkeling in Portobelo.

European Spring Break Trip
Is your student interested in traveling? Do they dream of Paris? Mr. Getty and Mrs. Rosswurm will be taking students to Europe for Spring Break 2021! The trip will take students to France, Germany, and the Alps and will include a trip to Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site.
Spring Break in New York City
Parents and students are welcome to spend spring break 2020 in New York City. We will see four Broadway shows, tour Radio City Music hall, go to the Top of the Rock, and much more! For information, please contact theatre director Leslie Young at lyoung@scecina.org.

  • On Tuesday, September 24, the eighth grade classes of Our Lady of Lourdes, Little Flower, and Holy Spirit will come to Scecina for an all-day Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) activity that will focus on water filter design and operation, biomedical technology, and cooler and recycling object design and operation. We are looking for parents who would be interested in volunteering during the day. If you would like more information, please contact Ellen Walsh at ewalsh@scecina.org.

  • Kevin Gawrys, principal at Little Flower, is looking for high school students to work in the after-school care program. This is a paid position. The schedule is Monday through Friday 3:15 – 5:00 PM. If your high school student is interested, please contact Mr. Gawrys at kgawrys@littleflowerparish.org .

Inspired Gateways
Scecina is into its third year of partnership with the French foreign exchange program, Inspired Gateways. This Catholic organization gives French high schoolers the opportunity to discover life in America. Students stay 6-8 weeks with host families in the Scecina Community.

Crusader Cafe
Scecina has a full-service cafeteria serving breakfast and lunch. Scecina participates in the federally funded free and reduced program. All meals and food items are prepared in our kitchen by the awesome Scecina cafeteria staff. Breakfast is served from 7 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. on school days.
