Scecina Memorial High School will administer the PSAT and SAT to all students on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Seniors who have chosen not to take the SAT that day should use the time for a college visit.
Please note the following details:
The school will open at 7:00 a.m.
Breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 7:50 a.m.
Students must report to their assigned rooms by 8:00 a.m.
Students should bring their fully charged Chromebook.
Dismissal Times
Standard testing: 11:00 a.m.
Extended time testing: 12:15 p.m.

The Circle City Irish Festival is coming up Friday and Saturday, September 18–19, and Scecina is excited to once again be part of the fun!
Scecina has a long history of supporting the festival by providing volunteers, and we’re looking for Crusaders of all ages to help continue that tradition. Volunteer shifts are just two hours, and volunteers receive a festival T-shirt and are welcome to stay and enjoy the festival after their shift.
Adults who would like to volunteer can sign up directly through the Circle City Irish Fest website.
Scecina students who would like to volunteer and receive service hours should contact Mr. Hegarty at jhegarty@scecina.org.

Junior and Senior young men are invited to join the Bishop Brute College Seminary Community for Castle Nights. These nights are held about once a month and are a chance for high school guys to pray, eat, and talk with our college seminarians!
We are excited to invite our 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students to participate in our annual Underclass Retreat Day. While this is a mandatory school day for all students, including seniors, students will step away from their normal routines for a day of prayer, reflection, service, community-building, and faith. Each grade will have a unique role in making this day a meaningful experience for our Scecina community.
Important Information:
Retreat Date: Monday, September 14, 2026
Arrival: Students should arrive at their normal time and be in their WIN classes by 7:50 AM.
Lunch: Lunch will be provided for all students.
Dress Code: All students should wear Scecina Spirit wear and regular shoes.
Weather: Students participating in off-site retreats should check the forecast and dress appropriately for the weather. Students should be prepared to spend time outdoors and do a significant amount of walking.
Service Hours: Sophomores, Juniors, & Seniors will all receive approved hours towards their Christian Service Learning graduation requirement.
Junior GIRLS - Junior Girls attending the retreat at St. Mary of the Woods must also complete the Sisters of Providence specific permission slip as well. This is a paper permission slip; your student will bring it home with them.
Deadline: Permission slips must be completed by the end of the day on Monday, September 7
Freshmen — “We Are Scecina” The freshmen retreat will focus on what it means to be part of the Scecina community. Students will participate in a variety of activities, prayer, reflection, and opportunities to build relationships with their classmates and faculty.
Location: Scecina Memorial High School
Dismissal: Students will be ready for pick-up at the normal dismissal time of 2:45 PM
Sophomores — “We Are the Church” The sophomore retreat will take students off-site for a day centered on service and what it means to be the Church in action. Students will work on various service projects throughout the day, many of which will take place outdoors.
Location: Off-site service locations
Dismissal: Students will return to Scecina and be ready for pick-up at the normal dismissal time of 2:45 PM.
Juniors — “We Are Pilgrims” The juniors will be divided by gender and travel to two different locations. Their retreats will be an extended day of pilgrimage, service, prayer, and reflection. Both groups will participate in an outdoor service project and should be prepared for a full day of walking and activity.
Location:
Girls: St. Mary of the Woods (near Terre Haute, IN)
Boys: Marian University (downtown Indianapolis)
Dismissal: This is an extended day. Students will return to Scecina and be ready for pick-up at approximately 7:00 PM.
Seniors Leaders While they will not be having a retreat of their own, the retreat day is still a mandatory school day for all Seniors. Seniors will be divided among the Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior retreats to serve as Senior Leaders. For those retreats, refer to the information listed above. They will help lead activities, facilitate small groups, support faculty, and serve as positive examples of the Scecina community for our younger students. Senior Leaders will receive more specific information about their retreat assignment, location, schedule, and responsibilities prior to the retreat.
